When initial appointments are offered they will be provisionally held for you for 24 hours; if payment is not received by BACS within this time frame the slot will be offered to other clients. Sessions cancelled within less than 48 hours will not be refunded.

In the case of self-paying clients payment is due in advance of your session on the day of the scheduled consultation by BACS to Dr Liz Harte. Dr Harte reserves the right to cancel the session if payment is not made in advance unless you are using your Health Insurance.

There are times when you may need to cancel; as much notice as possible is greatly appreciated by contacting Dr Harte directly via email. In the case of cancellation of scheduled appointments a full consultation fee will be payable unless a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is given. This also applies to cases of unforeseen events (such as illness or childcare difficulties) as all consultations are pre-arranged and it is unlikely that this slot can be filled without sufficient notice. Health insurance clients are liable for the cost of late cancellations and non-attendance as this is not covered by insurance policies.

Dr Harte will provide you with as much notice as possible if she needs to cancel or reschedule one of your appointments.

If you intend to use private healthcare insurance and your insurance policy does not cover the full cost of each session, you will be responsible for the payment of any fees not covered by your policy. For example, many policies have an excess and insurance companies require the excess to be paid directly to Dr Harte to cover part of the fee. Please check this with your insurance company. Dr Harte will also inform you of any unsettled fees. You will also be liable for the cost of late cancellations and non-attendance as this is not covered by insurance policies.

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length unless you have arranged a shorter or a longer appointment. High Performance Coaching sessions are 90 minutes in length. If you arrive late for your session the session will still end at the same scheduled time. Please inform Dr Harte by text or email as soon as possible to let her know if you are running late.

Requests for reports or any other form of correspondence other than routine feedback to the referrer or insurance company are chargeable pro rata at the usual therapy rate.

You are not committed to a course of sessions. Clients have the right to terminate sessions at any stage during their treatment.

All personal information provided is stored in compliance with EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) rules.

Dr Harte will hold information about a client and the therapy/sessions they receive in confidence. She will not normally share your personal information with anyone else. However, there are exceptions to this when there may be need for liaison with other parties:

• If you are referred by a health insurance provider, or otherwise claiming through a health insurance policy to fund therapy, then appointment schedules will be shared with that organisation for the purposes of billing. Dr Harte may also share information with that organisation to provide treatment updates. This will be done in collaboration with you.
• If you need information to be shared about your treatment with outside organisations directly involved in your care, for example, your GP or psychiatrist, your written consent will be required. In these cases, Dr Harte will inform you of who this is, and what details would be shared with them.

In exceptional circumstances, Dr Harte might need to share personal information with relevant authorities:

• When there is need-to-know information for another health provider, such as your GP.
• When disclosure is in the public interest, to prevent a miscarriage of justice or where there is a legal duty, for example a Court Order.
• When the information concerns risk of harm to the client, or risk of harm to another adult or a child. Dr Harte will discuss such a proposed disclosure with you unless she believes that to do so could increase the level of risk to you or to someone else.

Treatment is limited to pre-arranged times only. If for any reason out-of-hours appointments are required this needs to be agreed in advance. There will be times that Dr Harte will not be available for consultation and clients who need urgent clinical input and/or support are advised to contact their GP Surgery, Out of Hours Service or present to Accident and Emergency.
