FAQs
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. I do not inform your GP about our therapy sessions. In line with ethical and professional standards — I ask for your GP details as part of the practice registration process.
I would only extend the limits of confidentiality if:
- I became seriously concerned about harm coming to you or others around you
- You were involved in serious crime
- Your records were requested by a court
In these circumstances I would endeavour to first discuss this with you.
To ensure a high standard of professional practice, I receive regular supervision. Clients are presented anonymously and supervisors are bound by codes of confidentiality and ethical practice of their professional organisations. I fully comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.
What can I expect in our first appointment?
The first meeting allows us to get acquainted and decide if we are a good fit to work together. During this time I aim to gain a broad understanding of your current challenges and desired goals.
It is an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work and to see if you would feel comfortable working with me. At the end of our first meeting, I will give you an overview of how we might work together and we will decide on next steps.
At any point along the way, it is completely acceptable for you to decide that you would prefer to work with someone else. I am always happy to signpost people to more appropriate support.
How long are the appointments?
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes, including the initial consultation appointment. Coaching sessions are 90 minutes.
What are the fees?
